Happy November 1st

I think there's something like 54 days until Christmas. I can't wait to go home.

My family was in town this weekend. I bought a grill just for them... well, for my enjoyment too, and that of my significant other. I'm getting really excited about my recent purchases. I always wanted to be a tom-boy growing up, but never was athletic enough.

Now, I'm still not athletic, but I'm finding more enjoyment in outdoorsy pursuits. Like hiking through unblemished wilderness. I feel a real peace inside when I'm staring at trees, and here in Virginia there are plenty of those. It's peak fall season where I live, and the trees are brilliant in reds and yellows. I'm also enjoying learning how to rock climb. I really can't wait to do it outside. I love testing my muscles and feeling like I've conquered something when I get to the top. Being bad at sports requiring a lot of hand-eye coordination has always been something that badly irked me. But for some reason I don't mind being bad at rock climbing... I still feel like I've won a victory every time I get to the top... even when I look like a fool on the way up.

To end this ramble, the conclusion I've come to is that you just need to find stuff to do that you enjoy... then pursue it to the best of your ability... so for me, it means buying a grill... one more step towards those camping trips I want to take when spring rolls around. I believe that I can camp... even the unathletic can camp, even though we may have troubles setting up a tent : )-

If you are worried about setting up the tent, I would recommend that you invest in one of those tents that you just throw in the air and they set themselves up! I believe they are fairly cheap and easy to setup. Careful on the rocks!

You need good stress relievers and it sounds like you are finding a few! We can go rock climbing when I come to visit and that should make you feel better because I'm sure that you will be better than I am! I agree with Greg about the tent. Get a no brainer one to set up, it's better to start the trip on a good note rather than mad at the tent. Carol :)
