I'm Engaged!

Well, I promised a post about the engagement, so I'll try to do it quickly!

It was a great day. I picked up Nate from the airport after I had already worked in the morning (it's great working Saturdays!). He asked me if he could make plans for the day, and I said yes. I immediately began freaking out because I thought this might mean that I was getting proposed to!!! So we went to Annandale and ate at a Korean restaurant. It was pretty funny, the whole menu was in Korean so it was pretty interesting trying to figure out stuff to eat. After eating we went out to Great Falls National Park and went hiking. By this point I was totally paranoid. Every time we slowed down I started getting nervous, BUT he didn't propose the entire hike.

This was about when I started telling myself to stop thinking that I was getting engaged, because every time I thought so before it never happened and I was disappointed : )

We went back to my house and I was really tired, so I took an hour and a half nap while Nate went out for a "meeting" with his new employer. [He took the job with the government contractor.] According to him he was going to sign some papers, or do something to expedite the hiring process. So I wasn't too suspicious.

After my nap we got ready to go and hang out with Jeff and Abby for the evening. We decided to run by our house to see if our cell phones worked inside of it. I started roaming around the house, checking out the bedrooms, bathroom again. We are signing a lease today (Monday) and I wanted to be absolutely sure that I liked it. Finally I came to the kitchen and he had it decorated with beautiful flowers and candles. I gave him a big hug. At that point I knew what was going on.

We had a lovely dinner on the floor of our living room. We spread out a blanket and ate salad, then lasagna and chicken Parmesan (we had some lovely music playing from his iPod!). Dessert was Godiva chocolate covered strawberries and truffles. After dessert we were talking and then he gave me a card. It was really sweet. Then he proposed!!! No, I didn't cry. I was too happy to cry. I just gave him a big hug. P.S. the ring is beautiful!!

The rest of the night was great. We danced in the living room, and called our parents and grandparents to tell them the good news. Jeff and Abby showed up later and we just chatted and talked about the future.

We have set a date: June 04, 2005. Ironically enough Jeff and Abby were married June 05, 2004!!! Hmmmm, oops! I am having a wedding shower in Tremont on April 30th. We will be registered at Target and Bed, Bath, and Beyond. We've started a Target registry, but aren't sure if it's all what we want, so don't run out and get us anything!!! : )

Anyhow, it was a wonderful day. Yesterday we went back out to Great Falls and took some (hopefully decent) engagement pictures. If you're interested, e-mail me and hopefully I'll eventually be able to send you a jpg picture.

If this wasn't detailed enough, just give me a call and I can relate more of the fun!!

Over and Out!
