It's Summer

It's summer folks, and you know what that means..... more of my friends are leaving Deloitte! Last night I went to yet another "goodbye" happy hour. This time it was for one of the guys from my starting class. One of the three of us. He's leaving to go to this place where he'll do tax returns for professional athletes. Sigh. I alternate between feelings of sadness and jealousy. When will it be my turn to discover my perfect job? Hmmm.... lately I've been hearing about all these crazy jobs and I've been hopeful that at some point I will find one. Surely somebody will be willing to hire me to work a few hours a week, kinda randomly when I feel like it... I mean, a happy employee is most definitely a good employee, right?

In great news, some of my friends did not leave, and some of them were promoted! Props to them. Of course, the higher up you go, the more responsibility you have, and your social life dwindles down to near nothing.... but gosh, you are a senior/manager/senior manager/Deloitte super star! OKAY, enough of that super friendly sarcasm.

Happy times: my bro and sis are driving out to visit me this weekend. They are bringing out the rest of my wedding gifts. A kitchen table, grill, Kitchen Aid, etc etc... They are making their way through Ohio as we speak. I'm hoping to show them a good time. Probably do some hiking, eat some good food, hang out at the National mall on the 4th and hopefully watch a stellar fireworks show... I love family. It's probably a good thing I don't live near them or my husband might freak out when we visit them continually.

Oh yeah, the picture above. It's of me at the Chicago Arboretum... what happened? I actually look kinda cute there! My hair was bone straight!!!! I look thin!!! Hmmm... maybe I just like it because the rose is covering my face.... yeah, that's definitely it : )
