My throat hurts. It's definitely a product of many things... in part my trip home this past weekend. My flight was delayed in DC, but I did make it home by running through the Atlanta airport to my gate. As usual, we stayed up late talking, scheming, etc. and before I knew it the alarm was going off. 8:15 AM fitting for my bridesmaid dress. Ohhhh, sigh... 8:15 on a Saturday?
After the fitting I headed over to Mike & Carmen's to prepare for Mary's personal shower. I was ever so helpful. I even baked an egg casserole. The shower went fine. The food was good, the games seemed to be enjoyed, and the gifts were lovely. I was envious of several of her pajama sets received. I love getting new sets of p.j.'s. I think I ask for a pair nearly every Christmas.
Anyhow, the rest of the weekend was fun. We went to hear my brother (Tim) sing with his chorale, ate at a Chinese restaurant, went to church, went to see my Grandma in the nursing home, and ate a delicious pot roast and mashed potatoes before heading off to the airport again.
BUT, AGAIN, my flight was delayed. Argh. And, thanks to the delay, I missed my flight in Atlanta... OHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!! I stayed in a hotel near the airport, and let me tell you, my advise to all travelers would be... if you plan on paying to "sleep" after you've missed a flight... DON'T STAY AT THE HOTELS CLOSEST TO THE AIRPORT! My room shook with every plane going in and out of ATL. And then, after the planes stopped, the construction crew decided to start madly working on the runways. I think, at best, I slept for 3 hours before hauling it back to the airport for my 7am flight.
So lack of sleep, busy season, and the weather that can't seem to make up its mind, have all contributed to my bristly throat. I'm drinking tea, sucking on cough drops, and hoping to make it through work today. I've already been told by several others to go home and stop infecting them. Why should I go home, I ask, when I have so much love to share?!

You sound like how I've been feeling most of this week. Welcome to winter weather!
