lasts

So it seems that I've been doing a lot of "lasts" in the past few weeks. Nate and I have been scrambling to try and do all sorts of "DC" things before we leave.

Take last weekend, for example. I sang with the gospel choir for the last time. Sad. They came and sang at my church, and since I knew the songs I sang with them. It really was quite fun. For those of you who don't know, Nate and I have started going to an "offshoot" of our main church (Columbia Baptist Church). The offshoot is called Columbia at Crossroads. About once a quarter the gospel choir comes over to our church to sing.

Last Saturday night I went over to the leader of the gospel choir, Holly's, house for a fun girls night. We ate a bunch of food and stayed up talking until about 1:30am, which of course translated to 2:30am with the time change. I was quite tired on Sunday, to say the least. My old bones just don't take the wee hours of the night as well as they used to!!! ; )

Sunday I took a nap after church, and then Nate and I went out for a game of frisbee golf!!! Yeah! Instead of playing for points we just played for "holes". Basically, whoever had the lowest score won the hole. I beat Nate at two holes, and tied him on two, so I guess that means that he won five. That has to be my best record yet. I was quite pleased, and gloated for a good hour : ) After frisbee we headed over to some friends of ours, Jason and Rebecca's for dinner. Nate agreed to help them with taxes in exchange for dinner. Pretty sweet deal! They cooked up quite a spread, and Rebecca and I sat around talking while the boys did taxes. Dessert was this yummy pecan pie made with chocolate. Oh delish!!!

Fun news for the week. Nate got approved to take a "business" trip to Germany next week! He is leaving this Saturday and returning the next Friday. I guess he's supposed to be "training", but it's really just a good excuse for him to see what the office is like over there and tour around looking for a place to live. He's very excited, and so am I... although I'll have to be alone for a week. Our old rental house creeks and groans, and with my active imagination I usually think that I am going to be abducted, killed, or worse... but I guess I'll make it!!!
