My husband has shown, from time to time, a certain reluctance when asked to do household "handy-man" tasks. In college he lived with a very handy sort of guy (see Jeff's Blog), so he never really needed to learn how to do these things. However, despite his lack of training in the handy-man area, when Nate does get himself motivated to do said tasks, the results are often quite wonderful.
Take, for example, the spectacular shelves shown above. When we first moved into our apartment, there was a little wire thing hanging on the side of the cabinet. I crowded my spices onto it, and hung bags and other things from the little hooks randomly dispersed inside the cabinet. It was a mess, but it worked.
And then, when I was visiting my family in the States, my dear hubby got motivated to fix the mess. He navigated the German hardware store (ordered shelves cut, etc. all in German) and then fixed my cabinet. I love it!!!! The only thing I "need" to hang now is my little French apron, which I never use because it's so cute and I don't want to get it dirty.
Did I mention earlier Nate's prowess with electricity? He hung all of our light fixtures (connected them and all) and only shocked himself once. Jack of all trades that boy is, yes sirrreeee!

Dear Steph,
I am soooo impressed with his work. The Cabinet looks nice and organized. We have been very busy doing jobs about the house and could use another hand. We are getting tired!!!! Love, Mom
