It is not my fault!!!!

So Nate just got home from his trip to Washington D.C. We have been hanging out, relaxing, really not doing much since I am sick. Oh, the agony. Burning throat, running nose, and achy body.

We were eating lunch today and I asked Nate where he put the pannier racks he bought (while in the States). He said, and I quote, "I put them down in the cellar, with the bike."

Let me step back a bit. Nate had told me, while on the phone last week, that he purchased my birthday present while in the States. My birthday is coming up, next Monday (Dec. 17). He also mentioned that I couldn't pick him up at the airport because he didn't have enough room in his bag for the gift (so he was going to have to carry it in a free arm). He also claims that he told me that there was liquid in the bag and he didn't want the liquid to break open and "ruin" the gift. I don't remember that statement.

Anyhow, back to the present. Nate mentioned to me that he put his new pannier racks in the cellar, WITH THE BIKE. Interesting, I thought, seeing that Nate doesn't have a bike in the cellar. He keeps his bike out in the hallway!!!!!!!! I tried and tried to make this little worm wriggle its way out of my brain, but I couldn't. I broke down and had to ask, "So, did you just give away my birthday present?" He pretended (rather unsuccessfully) to look like he didn't know what I was talking about. "What on earth," he said, "would I have said that gave away your birthday present?" I relayed his previous statements and he started to get this goofy grin on his face.

OH MAN!!!

Well, I still don't know what the bike looks like.

Here's where you, my loyal readers, get a chance to weigh in. Is it my fault that I discovered, through reasoning and intellect, my birthday gift? Or is it Nate's fault for making it very obvious as to what I was getting?

Please vote using the poll on the side of my webpage.

[Let it be said that Nate doesn't agree with "some" of my telling of this story. He claims I have a selective memory. To which I claim, this is my blog and I can write whatever I want. Thank you!]

this is way too complicated for my brain this early on a very icy morning - I somehow voted twice for Nate before I even knew I was voting!! Then I had to put one in for you just to even things out a little - next time you need to write a "how to" manual!!
