Remember how I mentioned the orchestra/opera/fireworks concert that we went to last year... and how it rained the whole time? Well... we decided to try again this year. Peter, Bettina, Nate, and I set out for the Monrepos castle with hope in our eyes. But... as soon as stepped out the front steps of their home we felt them... rain drops.
The rain continued as we parked the car, as we picked out our spot on the lawn, as we ate our delicious supper (Chicken salad, fruit, and baklava provided by us. Other items provided by them.), as the time drew nigh for the concert... and then... an announcement: Ladies and Gentlemen, due to inclement weather we will only play a half concert tonight. We're sorry for the inconvenience, so you can get a full refund of your ticket if you go online and ask for it.
The crowd cheered.
The concert began.
One song later the heavens erupted. It poured!!!!! The song ended. Again an announcement: Ladies and Gentlemen, we're really very sorry... but you all need to go home. (The ticket refund still stands).
Laughs and cheers from the crowd, and then we all picked our soggy selves up off the ground and headed home.
I guess there's always next year!!!!
