I can't resist

My little girl is such a cutie. This morning, during a feeding, I sat her up for a break. We were chatting, enjoying each others company, when I saw (too late) the tell-tale signs of a puke. She started heaving, and I grabbed a burp rag... but not before she puked all down the front of her (freshly changed) outfit. I sighed and, once again, missed the signs of a heaving. She then projectiled more milk all over my (freshly changed) outfit.

I laid her against a pillow and stared in disbelief at all of the vomit. And then, to my surprise, Elena started smiling. A huge smile, beautiful smile. I started to laugh, and with each hysterical giggle her smile only got bigger.

After the laughter died down I dabbed off the worst of the puke, got up and changed her outfit, and had to thank God for the beauty of my daughter and her over-active digestive system. Without that puke I would have missed the smile.

I'm jealous, Steph...not because of the puke, but because I just want to come squeeze that little cutie! And see her smile! Glad it sounds like things are going well.

How I would have loved to see that smile. Grandma would love to hold and change her but she is sooooooo far away!! Love, Grandma B. (mom)
