Museum

A few weeks ago a group of friends and I decided that we needed to check out the Children's Discovery Museum in Normal.  I took the girls to my Aunt Diane's the night before the big day, and after a short night of sleep (sigh!), hit up Starbucks before going to the museum.

Elena's favorite thing, by far, was the huge area with fake fruit, vegetables... ha, okay, I won't lie.  Elena's favorite thing by far was the huge area with cupcakes, cakes, cookies, and other sweet things.  At one point I was somewhere else watching Annika and I found her forcing two other adults to eat cookies with her!

One of Annika's favorite things to do was paint.  Why was I surprised?  This kid is like her mother, she likes to get messy.  Next time I'll dress her in older clothes and bring a smaller paint smock.  Boy was she not ready for me to drag her out of that room.

My little future-theater-major in action.  She sang, danced, and tried on nearly every costume in the dressing room!

A very proud moment for me.  Elena is normally very timid and afraid to try new things.  But, in trying to keep up with my friend's older girls, she climbed up a very large webbed maze full of obstacles.  The old Elena would have tried once, sighed with frustration, and walked away.  The new Elena ugh-ed, grunted, and pushed her way up.  Yay!

Anni absolutely loves "driving" things.  She sat for about 15 minutes, driving a pizza truck, and was delighted to see that she could drive the big red tractor as well.  Despite the looks on their faces, my girls thoroughly enjoyed the museum.  We were there from about 10 to 2:30, and neither of them were ready to leave.  We'll be back!
