Okay, so I keep hearing that it sounds like my vacation was terrible so I will write about some of the good things.
1. We had a room overlooking the ocean. The view was beautiful. We could see the sun set, and all of the weddings going on from the balcony.
2. Jamaican Jerk. We got to eat the spicy Jamaican jerk chicken with rice and beans for dinner one night. It was delicious.
3. Safari on the Black River. I got to touch a crocodile. I was amazed at how soft its skin was. Not at all like it looks!
4. YS Falls. The falls were really pretty. They also had a rope swing out over the bottom of the falls that Nate and I took full advantage of. Nate climbed high up on the rope and swung way out on the water. I was quite sure that he did it better than all the other men trying to get a great "swing". Also, on a lower part of the falls, we got to go out and under the pounding waterfall. A Jamaican man came with us and took pictures of us playing under the falls. It was awesome!
5. Rum Factory. We got a tour of the Appleton Rum Factory. I'm not a huge fan of straight rum, but they had a coffee and other flavored liquors (I know I spelled that wrong) that were quite yummy!
6. Shrimp. We stopped along the road at a little stand and ate some steamed shrimp in a black pepper sauce. They were so tender and juicy, almost didnt taste like shrimp.
7. Snorkeling. They had a great little cove on the resort where we snorkeled. We saw some strange looking fish, and a sting-ray.
8. Gina's Wedding.... was absolutely gorgeous. She had a lovely dress and an even lovelier husband. I met him for the first time that day, but can say for sure that he is an awesome guy who loves her very much. Watching her dance with him to 'I Don't want to Miss a Thing' was a real tear-jerker (Aerosmith reference for those of you who would appreciate that).
9. Italian Night. Several nights they had a little Italian cafe out by the water, so we would grab our books, eat pasta, and read under the stars.
10. Speaking of Stars. We liked to pull out beach chairs by the rock pools, dangle our feets in the water and look at the stars. Very quiet and romantic!
11. Scuba Diving. Well, I didnt really like it, but I'm proud of myself that I did it.
12. Anna Karenina. This is the book I read while in Jamaica. The first Russian book I've ever finished. I loved it. Nate read something that looked incredibly boring about philosophy.
13. Pina Coladas. I think this was all Nate drank the whole week (other than water of course). They were so fresh and fruity.
14. Judith. The really nice 'fun' coordinator who played games with us. We played bocce ball, cricket, and Jamaican beach ball. Very fun and kept us occupied. We had a hard time just laying out.
15. My husband. Without him, I think most vacations just wouldn't be the same. We really did enjoy our time together, desite the calamaties. Oh, did I mention that all of the euros in my wallet were stolen from our hotel room? Ha ha, calamity Stephanie I am.

Horray!! Good news from the Ramquists. A successful trip, ok, minus a few euros. Much yummy food, beautiful wedding, I can't wait to see the pictures. It was good seeing and talking to you via the webcam. Take care, love ya, Mom
Sounds awesome!
