Well, I feel much better.
After the funeral yesterday, I went back to Peter & Bettina's place for dinner. We went out back to their plum tree and shook the branches to bring down the ripe plums. Bettina got a bit zealous with her shaking and we all were being hit with "hail" from above. She seemed to think it was funny! ;)
After relaxing a bit, we sat down for a nice dinner. Little pizzas, soup, salad, and the like. Then, we settled in for the Germany vs. England soccer ("fussball") game. Two hours later Germany had whomped on England, 2-1. Yay!
It was so late that I didn't really want to take the 50 minutes or so to travel back to Stuttgart (bus, train, bus, walk). So I spent the night at their house on the sofa.
As I was getting ready for bed Bettina came up behind me in the bathroom and gave me a hug. It was nice. I'm so glad that their family took a liking to me and Nate. It really does give me a feeling of home away from home when we're with them.
Just what the doctor ordered for my homesickness.

Dear Steph,
It is a delicious looking pie and you told me how good to eat it was. When we come to visit, you will need to have one(any pie) waiting for us. I think it meant alot to Bettina that you came to be with their family. Love,Mom
