Fussball

Nate and I have both agreed that the past weeks have been really good for us. For a while, it seemed that all we did was travel. And we paid for it. We had a lot of good times, saw beautiful things, but we both have been exhausted.

The past two weekends we have just been at home, here in Stuttgart. Sleeping in, going to the park, reading books. It has been wonderful!

This Friday I surprised Nate with tickets to the VFB (Stuttgart's home team) vs. Hannover soccer game. We went yesterday, Saturday, and enjoyed ourselves. Actually, the game wasn't very exciting (VFB lost) but it was nice to be outside with all the other Stuttgarters. What is better than being outside in the crisp air, smiling at the one you love, while teenaged Germans throw balls of paper at your head?! Seriously, these guys above us kept throwing wads of paper at us poor spectators below. One huge ball hit me square in the back of the head.

Really, people aren't all that different across the globe. Maybe they eat different food, like different amounts of "personal space", and show respect in different ways, but I can tell you this... teenagers are still teenagers, no matter where you live!

Dear Steph,
Just think you were one of those teenagers. Of course, you wouldn't have ever done something like that. So, we wore you out, huh? Us old guys have been feeling quite perky. You better eat your vitamins. Love, Mom Love ya lots!
