Small Update

I had a midwife appointment today. She said that my stomach was actually smaller, which could mean that the baby's head has gone farther down into the pelvis (yikes!). In addition, she said that she could feel the baby itself better, which means that there is less amniotic fluid. I guess that at this point in the pregnancy, that also means that labor is getting closer and closer.

We did a CTG (fetal heart thingee) and the baby's heart beat was hovering up and down around 160. Josella didn't want to move around very much, which seemed to worry the midwife a bit, but eventually I did get him/her to poke at me and roll a bit. Yesterday the baby was making a lot of movement, so in the end we decided that everything is fine.

I have another midwife appointment scheduled for Wednesday morning. We'll see if I make it! I have been having quite a few contractions (like every time I get up and move), and a few of them have even hurt just a bit.

As we were getting up to leave the midwife office my stomach contracted, so I had the midwife touch my stomach. She laughed and said, "Oh yes, a small contraction." Hmmmmm, small?! I'm not sure what I've gotten myself into, but it's a little too late to get out!

So true, so true. I feel very cookie-cutter saying it, but it's worth it! You can do it, Steph...we're rooting for you! :D

I can't believe how tiny you are! You are one lucky girl. I hope that baby decides to come soon. Labor isn't that bad. If you can survive tax season, you can survive labor and delivery. :)
