On Monday morning, 8:30am, Nate, Elena, and I enjoyed Elena's first in-office doctor visit. This visit was the "U3", or the 4-6 week check-up. We walked there with the stroller, arrived at the office 10 minutes early, and enjoyed practicing our German with the receptionist.
After disrobing Elena, we waited anxiously in the exam room for the doctor. We were hoping he wouldn't notice how we had forgotten to clean her belly-button (ooops!), or maybe not notice that she had peed on the exam table. Dr. Herter eventually came in, weighed and measured, poked and prodded, and did an ultrasound of our little darling. She didn't like the ultrasound much, screamed the whole time. But, she doesn't have hip dysplasia! Hoooray! All in all, I believe she was pronounced healthy, for which we are very thankful.

Weight: 3620 grams (7.98 pounds)
Height: 52 centimeters (20.47 inches)
Head Circumference: 36 cm (14.17 inches)
5 Weeks
Weight: 5150 gr (11.35 pounds)
Height: 56 cm (22.05 inches)
Head Circumference: 39 cm (15.35 inches)
(I think most of the weight gain is in her cheeks)

Elena seems quite grown up for being 5 weeks old! Amazing how much she's changed already (at least from the pictures)...she looks so cute and huggable! Cousin Max says, "Way to go, Elena! You'll catch up to me pretty soon!" :)
