She Slept Through the Night.... or Not!

I forgot to add this picture to my post yesterday, so thought I would just add it today and put up this little story.

I have been sick with a sore throat for the last two days. Last night it was really catching up with me. At 9pm I was being quite snappy and Nate asked if I just didn't want to go to bed. Poor guy. I fed Elena and then at 9:30 headed into the bedroom. I woke up once or twice during the night, once in particular when I heard her cry, but was amazed at how awake I felt when I woke the third time. I rolled over and grabbed my Itzbeen baby care timer. You can imagine my surprise when I saw that she had been sleeping for NINE HOURS AND FORTY-FIVE MINUTES!

I jumped for joy and exclaimed to Nate, "WOW! Elena slept through the night on her 2 month birthday!" He smiled sleepily and mumbled, "Sorry babe, I got up and fed her a bottle midway through the night. I wanted to let you sleep."

Well, despite the fact that Elena didn't sleep through the night, last night did teach me/remind me of this: choose your husbands well ladies, because a good husband can make all the difference when you feel like you're at the end of your rope.

Love you honey.

My sis-in-law Mary sent me this picture. My Mom thinks it's a picture of my sister, Sheila. Have we found Elena's 24 year old twin?

[Elena weighed approximately 6200 grams on her 2-month birthday. That's 13.67 pounds, putting her in the 90-95th percentile per babycenter.com. What a heavyweight!]

Oh, wow...13.5 lbs! She's going to catch up to her little 17th percentile cousin Max in no time! Way to go Elena!

And I agree with the hubby comment, Steph...there's nothing like being able to hand the baby over to a willing husband when you're about to snap! :)

For the record, that is Sheila, and they DO look like twins! Unbelieveable!! 13.5 pounds - hmmm, she may catch up with Max, but I bet she won't beat him in a foot race :)
