Those of you who know my Dad well know that he loves to hike. We like it too, and as we are leading a church hike next weekend, we thought we ought to try out the trail before leading a group through it.
So, on Saturday we took off through the hills of Stuttgart, in search of Queen Katharina's grave (pictures are available in My Photo Gallery).
On Sunday, Dad joined me for my very first choir practice as choir director. I'm not so sure if I'm as much director as 'person who picks out songs', but I'll probably get better at it. If anything, I thought we sounded decent.
After lunch we went for another hike. This time on a familiar route. Except that the train broke down and we had to walk to the start of our hike (gasp!). What was hoped to be a short hike, ended with us having to take a taxi home as it was getting dark. Oh, and my calves felt like little knives were being shoved into them with each step. Have I mentioned how out of shape I am?
Dad should be in France about now, and Elena and I are starting the first of two months without visitors. Weird. We've started out this time with Elena taking a morning ten minute nap. Literally. I couldn't even finish this blog post. Breathe Stephanie, Breathe!

Looks like you had fun hiking!
The scenery was beautiful - and the company even better. But, the hills were tough!!! The Schwabs are a tough lot,
