This first video is of Elena feeding Annika. A couple weeks back I fed Anni rice cereal for the first time, but haven't been very good at keeping up with it. It's a big amusing to me that I always forget, because I used to feed Elena religiously, trying to get her to sleep better. Maybe I learned that it doesn't help that much, or maybe I'm just busier with two girls, but either way, she's only eaten cereal three times. Bad Mommy!
I also have a couple of videos from the past weekend. We drove up to Rockford so that Nate could attend a surprise birthday party for one of his high school friends. He hadn't seen her in ages, so it was fun to walk in the door and see a look of surprise on her face! We stayed Friday and Saturday nights at the Hilton Garden Inn right off of the interstate. This place was terrific for kids!!! Their pool area was geared entirely towards the smaller set. The video will show it well, but I'll try to describe. They had one end entirely devoted to slides, fountains, and the like, and then the other side had a volleyball net and basketball "court" set up. The deepest end of the pool was only 4'4".
Elena was a bit young for it all (she was scared most of the time), but I could see her really enjoying it next year. And, since Rockford is a decent meeting spot (about 2.5 hour drive for us, 1.5 drive for Oma and Opa), I could see us meeting up there again. I guess I did forget to mention that Oma and Opa came down to babysit the ladies while Nate and I went to the party. We enjoyed our time together immensely. I think I have the best inlaws in the world, hands down! It's always a good sign when your daughters want to go home with their grandparents!! Elena was very disappointed to learn that she had to go home with Mommy and Daddy. Sigh. It's started already!
And finally, a picture of Anni and I taken by Elena, and a self photo of Elena and I. Heart!
