Mid-December brought trims with our new hair stylist at Bella's Salon, Haley Witzig. The girls loved her, and their hair cuts!
Oh look, it's time to celebrate Mommy's birthday! Let's start off with donuts at Carl's Bakery!
and we might as well entertain the people at the bakery as well... why not?
Oh mmmmmm.....
In Annika's case, eating the frosting off the top of the donut is the way to go.
Auntie Sheila prefers to eat it all. And maybe one more!
Now that we've eaten a bit, it's time for coffee/tea at 30/30 in Peoria. And lucky me, I got my drink for free!
Lucky me again! My dear friend Sarah turned up at 30/30 as well.
December brings snow. And snow brings sledding.
and Elena's ballet recital. Oh my word, I can't get over her sweetness!
She's getting so big!
I helped organize an all church caroling event at local nursing homes. After singing we stopped at the Cobbler Corner in Pekin.
Elena's cobbler was delicious, and my pecan pie was... well... microwaved.
This year we started doing an Advent Calendar with our girls. In each slot was a reference to a story in our Children's Bible. The stories started with 'in the Beginning' and moved to Jesus' birth. The girls really looked forward to their nightly story!
And finally... time to party! Christmas time came to the Beutel cabin.
As usual, it was a wonderful time.
Good food (crab legs pictured!), good people, gathered for a good reason.
My loves.
The Big Beutel Christmas was well attended, and a joy for all of us!!!
The girls got a dollhouse from Grandma for Christmas. Papa was overjoyed to use his Bosch tools to put it together!
Play time!
On Christmas eve a few of us went to our church (Imago Dei)'s church service. After the service, which was lovely, we went to Pizza Works for some delicious pizza!
Christmas morning started out right with a back rub for Papa!
Gifts!
Anni and Marie Grace!
Elena and Cecile (or Pa pa pa Seal, as Anni calls her!)
We made and decorated Christmas cookies, just for kicks!
and then headed up to Madison for the Ramquist family Christmas. We stopped first at Opa's hangar to watch the American Family airplane take off!
ari and anni jumping on the bed!
Face painting by Auntie Sara!
More gifts!!!
Elena had a blast sledding with a very patient Auntie Sara.
the girls went into Madison for a ladies (plus Maleki) day out! We ate at a Mediterranean cafe and enjoyed some very delicious food!
Ebony and I, post dinner, pre shopping. What a wonderful Christmas time we had in 2013!
