September, 2014

Celebrating the last day before Kindergarten for Elena.... eeeek!

and... the big day is here!!!

My big ladies held hands and walked to their new school.  So brave!

We got them both new dresses for the occasion, which they loved!

Playdough to start the day.

Our friends, the Mayos, were in town for a sad reason, but we did get to have a bit of fun while they visited.

To the zoo!

Lions are always a fave.

Um, adorable.

Summer's end wouldn't be complete without ice cream!

Sweet Cece's to the rescue!

And then I started school.  For those that don't know, I'm attending Lincoln Christian University, working on a Masters in Teaching English as a Second Language.

September was sad as we had to return Zoey to the foster organization we got her from.

We loved her dearly, but she started growling at kids when they'd come into our house.  That's a big no-no in my book.

It's January, 2015 right now, and we still miss having a dog.  Hopefully we'll be able to get another soon.

Family fun!

Tirzie and Nora spent the night.  I was lucky enough to get snuggles with the two littles the next morning.

We took the girls to the Morton Pumpkin Festival parade and got pumpkin donuts while we waited.

And then loads of candy.  Whoo hoo!

Another fall tradition accomplished.  Tanner's Orchard!

Sheila and I recreated an outhouse picture we took many moons ago!

Caught with her pants down!

Love these two so much!

Sheila was 'just' a little preggers.

The Nina and the Pinta came to Peoria, so Lingua Garden and Co. went to the riverfront to check it out!

I tagged along and had the best time!

What a blast I had watching my Dad, Tim, cousin Mark, and friend Kevin compete in the local barbershop competition.  They sounded fantastic and you could tell they were having fun singing.  The crowd really enjoyed them too!

They didn't win, nor were they expecting to, but overall did great for their (Dad and Mark's) first time competing.  'At Least We're Loud' was the best in my book!

We visited Peoria's Oktoberfest celebration with our girls.  Now Annika and I just need dirndl's and we'll be a fully outfitted family!

We met friends to introduce them to German cuisine!

and German music!!!  This man could really play a tuba!  And dance while he did it!

Towards the end of September we had a couple of unseasonably warm days.  We pulled out the pool and enjoyed it.  Until next time, summer!
