It's December 23rd!!!!! Only one more day of the monotony and grind of Deloitte and then..... 6am out of Reagan National Airport I will be heading through the skies to Chicago.
Have I mentioned yet my extreme hatred for O'Hare? Oh, listen in to my woes about airports in general. Since I have moved to the East Coast, I have never had a flight that hasn't been delayed by less than an hour. I think one of my flights back was to visit Nate. It just so happened that a tornado whipped through the Dulles airport area, and what do you know, I didn't get into Chicago until 1am. Oh, and then there's this past Thanksgiving. I got to Reagan the prompt 2.5 hours early as the newspaper said to be. Where were the lines that were promised?! I do not know. I had one person in front of me in the security line. Not only was I 2.5 hours early and already through security but also a blizzard decided to ramble on through the Midwest. I don't remember how many hours I spent in that bleary airport, but I finally did get to Chicago, and I even made the flight to Seattle. However, we got into Seattle at 5am instead of 10-11pm when we were supposed to arrive.
Even two weekends ago when I flew to Chicago, "difficulties" in O'Hare kept us backed up an hour at Dulles, and then on my return flight, the winds in Chicago approached 40 mph... Oh yeah, my flight was several hours behind...
I have great hopes for my flight tomorrow. I really want to get home for Christmas. I've been frantically watching weather.com. Chicago's forecast for tomorrow still has no snow. I'm hoping, wishing, praying for one good flight... Just one!
