Due to my early arrival at work this morning and my long hours earlier in the week, I will be departing work at 4pm today!!!! Let excitement reign!!!
I've had a great birthday so far. I guess it started last weekend with Nate's gift (watch). He also took me to get Korean food, and bought me some holiday pajama bottoms from Old Navy. Score! My friend Amy also gave me two great CDs! More hippie music for me to listen to at work!!! Oh, how I love the fiddles : )
On Wednesday my small group surprised me with a cake and a lovely Thomas Kinkade mug that has John 3:16 on the outside, and John 8:12 on the inside. It's very pretty!!
Yesterday my roomies and I ate Chinese. They gave me a gift certificate to REI!!! Then I opened the first package I received from my mother. I got a super soft pajama set from Ralph Lauren, and a bunch of other stuff (like a pastry blender!!!). Homemade goodies and etc.
Basically before my birthday even arrived I had received so much!! I couldn't believe it!!! Today has been a pretty mundane day at work. I think I feel my 24 years much more when I sit here in my cubicle. The tan walls start to blend into something psychedelic, and I nearly doze off. I bought (yesterday) a poster of Mont Blanc in the spring to put up in front of my computer. I seriously hope that having something "undrab" will help me out.
As far as my plans for the day go, my co-worker Jon bought me a cookie from the Corner Bakery at 11. I plan to go out to eat with Jeff and Abby for a birthday dinner! I'm thinking a large filet and something chocolatey or fruity for dessert (maybe chocolatey and fruity!) I think that for being past 21 years of age (old and barren in my mother's eyes), with no birthday to really look forward to except 25 (when insurance goes down, so I've been told), this birthday has been great so far!!!
Thanks to all of those who have made it so special!
