Nate and I went to IKEA last night and bought a dresser for the bedroom! Needless to say, this made me very happy. I love IKEA. Cheap but cute furniture in this big, creative-ly decorated warehouse. They also have two little restaurants, one serving Swedish food, the other serving 50 cent hot dogs. To my delight, they added a new section of the store that holds all sorts of Swedish food, from frozen Swedish meatballs, to lingonberries and preserves. We bought a bag of the Swedish meatballs. I guess all you have to do is heat and serve. Maybe they will taste better than the ones I make by hand?
Last night was a "Nate-night". Nate and I distinguish days, or nights in which the day is either
"Steph" or "Nate". Typically on a Nate day we do something like go hiking or rock climb. Last Friday was a Steph day and we went into the city. I told Nate that we should do something and fun and exciting on our "Nate night" and we went furniture shopping. Hmmmm... we've been married for three months and excitement equates going to IKEA. : )
In other fun news, Nate bought us a lawn mower yesterday. Jeff's old trusty Toro hit the dust. They tore it apart and couldn't figure out how to fix it, SOOOO Nate went to Brown's hardware and bought us a $100 old-fashioned mower. You know, the mowers that are powered solely by your blood, sweat, tears, and a few blades rolling around. Yeah. No more motor or electric power for us. Our neighbor told us that his wife felt so bad for Nate mowing yesterday that she almost sent him over to help. Ha, smart woman.

Nice mower! You could have splurged and gone for a gas mower for probably about $150 more.
Ahhhh, the silent mower! Hear Hear! I aplaud your choice. There's nothing that ruins a perfect sunny day like everyone in the neighborhood running their lawnmowers. Old fashioned lawn mower: problem solved!
Love IKEA.
ps. How are the front yard onions, anyway?
ha ha. surprisingly enough, after spring (or many trips with the mower across them) our little onions appeared to die off. however, whenever we let the grass grow long enough, and then cut it, the smell of onion rises up and reminds us that we still live in a rental and are too cheap to get rid of all those glorious weeds!
You could use those onions to make salsa...
