Yo peoples, I thought I would yet again update you on my truly thrilling life!
Hmmmm, so yeah Nate left me last Thursday to go rock climbing in West Virginia. Thursday night I dead-bolted all of my doors, locked my bedroom door, and shivered under the covers until I finally fell asleep. I am such a fraidy-cat sometimes. I used to be fearless, but I think that one too many episodes of CSI has made me a bit irrational about serial killers and stalkers.
Friday was a good day at work. That evening I ordered pizza all by my lonesome and watched a little telly. I convinced a couple of my friends to go see Pride and Prejudice with me. Sooo at about 8:30 I picked them up and headed to Reston. Ohhhhh, how I love Pride and Prejudice. I even liked this new rendition of it. I was skeptical, but eventually fell in love with Mr. Darcy all over again. It was nice that the movie only last a couple of hours. It's predecessor is like a 3 VHS, 6 hourish marathon. GREAT movie, but with my lack of free time these days, it's not too practical to watch it. Anyhow, I actually liked Keira in the movie. I was getting tired of seeing her face splashed all over the media, but I admit that she very cute. Go see it! If you don't mind only seeing the very important parts of the book jammed into quick succession, then really go see it!
Saturday I ran errands, got groceries and the like. Then at 3:00 I met up with some friends from gospel choir to drive to Woodbridge and see Byron Cage perform! Yowza! It was a phenomenal concert. A couple of different groups opened up for him, and then he finally came to the stage. The Hylton Chapel was full, and not a single person was not on his/her feet. Well, okay so a few people were, but mostly the older peeps. I really enjoyed myself. Afterwards we went to Outback for a late, late dinner... I had some sort of chicken pasta that was delicious.
While we were waiting to get in the restaurant, Nate called me and said he was coming home that night instead of Sunday! Yay!!!!! So I had my man all day Sunday instead of just part of the day.
Fun Sunday activities for Nate and Steph involve mass destruction of greenery in front yard. Can you imagine Nate standing on our roof and hacking at tree limbs with a small bush clipper? Ohhhh yes, the delight. And then, after he finished, I took to hacking at what initially I thought was a bush, but ended up being an old tree stump with lots of growth coming out of it.... We have branches all over our lawn, and now that the fun is done, neither of us really feel like cleaning it up... anyone want to come over and do us a favor?!!!!
