It's December!

Hurray for December! Man, it sure is getting cold outside. Due to our poorly insulated home, it also can be rather chilly on the inside too! But oh well, I own several big sweatshirts and one Alf fleece that can be placed over every single cute, thin shirt that I bought. Oh how I don't like bulk. I wish I could wear light, thin little long sleeved t-shirts on all occasions. But the dreaded curse of winter is in fact chilly weather, and I can't escape "the bundling". I feel like I've been diapered when I put on layer after layer. Recently my mother in law gave me a red wool coat. It's very thin, and I've enjoyed wearing it over my thin little work shirts. However, I know the time is soon coming when I will have to break out my even brighter red, bulky ski jacket and shiver my way to work.

Yes, I guess that wearing these thin shirts is a very selfish thing. I drink cup after cup of tea (wasting water I suppose) and keep a heater on most of the day (burning up that electricity). I think that my guilty conscience might soon prod me into buying some thin sweaters. Or maybe I'll just start wearing my few bulky sweaters with my lighter wool coat. Hmmmm... the possibilities.

But, as the song-writer says, "don't fence me in"! Or in my case, please, please, "don't bundle me up!!!".

Unrelated news: Nate and I are buying the RAV. After agonizing discussion, I told him to make the best decision for our family. Ha, maybe that's the easy way out for me, but he chose to get the car. Big hills, here we come!
