Let it Snow!

It's finally snowing in DC! The tree outside my office window is beautiful! It's an old cherry tree that turned beautiful colors in the fall, and now is heavily laden with pretty white snow. I get to watch all the people walk into our office building. It's pretty funny to see them slip and slip their way in!

Nate and I had a great weekend! On Friday night we went rock climbing in Sterling. Afterwards, we spent our $50 gift certificate at Sweetwater Tavern. It was very yummy! I had the jambalaya pasta, and Nate had the 7 oz. filet with crabcake. We also had these coupons for two free desserts, so we split the key lime pie and chocolate waffle with Jeff and Abby. Good times with old friends.

On Saturday Abby and I drove out to Leesburg in search of a dress. I needed a nice dress for Nate's SAIC Christmas party (coming up this Friday). I found a nice bright pink Marilyn Monroe looking dress. But, luckily for me, we found a much cheaper little black dress for $19.99 at Bennetton. I bought a little pink sash to tie around my waist (and add color), so now I think I'll be at least semi-suitable for this grand event. Grrr... why don't they let us all come in Holiday pajamas to these events? Who really wants to stand around in 3 inch heels while talking to their spouse's co-workers?!! Not I!!

When I came home from shopping Nate surprised me with a 8 foot Christmas tree!!! Oh man, it is huge!! It smells so good too!!! This is my first real Christmas tree that I can call my own. We went out and bought a few ornaments, and on Sunday we decorated it! What fun! My personal favorite ornament is the large green pickle we bought at Pier One! Nate had a big collection of ornaments from his childhood, so we put up every single one of those. Nate played McGyver and fixed up several broken ornaments with tape and rubberbands. If you see him, congratulate him... he's very proud of himself!

Sunday was our sixth month anniversary. We didn't really do anything exciting. But it's pretty amazing to think that we've been married for six months! We were commenting that it almost feels like we've been together our whole lives. Sigh... the bliss... : )
