Well, it is the worst month in tax season. If anyone has been wondering why I'm not writing much in my blog, the reason would be that I work all day, into the night, and Saturdays. It's really not too bad, but I usually just get very focused at work and forget that my blog exists.
My Dad is in town for a business meeting. He flew in on Saturday and we surprised him with dinner at the Melting Pot. His friend and colleague Howard met us for dinner. It was really fun. We had a drink at the bar, then moved over to the tables to cook our meal. We got a bottle of Geburtstraminer (may have spelled that wrong) with the fondue. Our first round was cheese, then meat, then dessert. My favorite part is usually dessert. We got the "turtle" fondue. Chocolate, caramel, and nuts, flambe'd with 51 on the top. Nate described it that we came very close to gluttony. I certainly felt sick after we got done eating, and I think I broke out in more zits than in my teenage years. But it was a very fun time. Eating together and chatting is the best time, in my opinion. Afterwards we went home and rented a WWII movie.
On Sunday we went to church, then to lunch at a little German cafe. We all had sausages, with apfelstrudel for dessert. We even practiced our German a bit with our waitress. Then we went to the Holocaust museum for several hours. Dad really wanted to see it, he'd never been there before. After the museum Dad left us for Maryland, and Nate and I ran some errands, cooked a nice vegetarian supper, and watched a movie.
All in all a really great weekend. Made me realize how much I miss my family. I hope to be home in April for my college roommate's wedding and I will see you then!
Love, Steph
