Hello there my loyal following! I have been lax in posting, as noted by my dear Grandfather when I spoke to him last week. He turned 80 on Wednesday, and still is as sharp as a tack!
I have been working a lot. No big surprises there. It has been stressful, and long, and daily I wish for my life of unemployment and school. Amazing how the grass always seems greener on the other side! Well, perhaps when I finally get a paycheck it will seem a bit more worth it! I'm being paid on a monthly basis, and I'm still waiting to get my February check!
We've had quite a few adventures despite working a lot. Last weekend we went with friends to Munich for the Stark Bier festival (Stark meaning strong). We learned the hard way that "strong" really meant high in alcohol content. Needless to say after one beer we all stopped and ate a large meal. You really couldn't compare it to anything I've had in the States... dark, rich, and tasty! I don't think I'll ever be able to drink a Bud Light again, sorry Aunt Trish!
This weekend (Saturday night) we celebrated our friend Kyle's 29th birthday with friends at the Calwer Eck Brewery. Of course, gelato for dessert. Is there really any other way to end a good meal?
Today we checked out a new church (I think we have possibly found a winner... and it's even in English!) and then took a walk to the Fernsehturm (TV tower-- pictured above). The Stuttgart TV tower was the first TV tower in the world built entirely from concrete, and for a time was a huge tourist attraction. We walked about 1.5 miles up a hill to get there through beautiful flowering parks. Spring is almost here!
Once at the tower we rode the elevator for 36 seconds to the top! It was windy and incredibly cold, so we settled in at their inside cafe with some raspberry torte. Gorgeous view, delicious torte, no work for a day, and my husband = a good day.

I guess I will have to hope that my taste buds change a little between now and October, huh?? Don't know if I will be able to drink that "rich" strong beer:-)
Dear Steph,
I have no special comment about the beer except to me all beer tastes nasty. I am glad that you took a little time out to relax after your stressful week. Love ya, Mom
She is alive!
