First up: Raspberry Breakfast Bars from the Smitten Kitchen (I made these on Wednesday)

My husband loves raspberries, so when I saw this recipe up on the Smitten Kitchen website, I couldn't NOT make it! (I used frozen raspberries)

The main difficulty in this recipe was making the crust without a food processor. Yes, I did beat in 3/4 cup of butter by hand, and yes it hurt!

Crust all baked up.

Cooling.

YUM!!!!! These were so good the first day. A little soft, a little crispy. Today they are a wee bit soggy (I'm thinking from the mass amounts of butter in the crust) but still taste like little bites of heaven!
Today's Attempt: Schwabian Potato Salad
This recipe comes from Werner's Grandmother. Christine and Werner are relatives from the "North" who were kind enough to supply me with a recipe. Of course, this recipe has no measurements... mostly just ingredients (some that I couldn't find!) and "how" to cook them. But I tried. I think it tastes pretty good, and we'll see what Nate thinks when he gets home tonight!

Don't forget to vote on my poll!!!!

Quite the domestic...I saw the picture Jeff had taken of you "barefoot, sweeping, and pregnant". I didn't know if that was supposed to be the conotation.

Ugggghhhnnnn-mmmmm- Those cute little potatoes are cut amazingly and have I mentioned that those little bits of onions (that you can't see) are sliced perfectly! Very impressed with your cutting skills there Ms.Stephy! The pics are so very smitten kitchen of you ;) Can't wait to try that salat!!
I have to vote in the comments because my answer isn't really a choice on your poll. I think you should find out (if baby cooperates) but then keep it a secret between you and Nate. I don't like surprises, so we found out with both of ours, but I like to be surprised when it comes to other people's babies. That's my two cents. =) You look good!
i want some of that kartoffelsalat too! looks good. keep up the good cooking.
