Jess and I rockin' our pies. I made the apple and she made the pumpkin.
Our little group of Americans and one German (me, Nate, Andre, Kyle, Jess, and Lou). Andre's first Thanksgiving, our first traditional Thanksgiving meal for a couple of years. Bliss, people, it was bliss!
Kyle has his unique carving style.

I decided to wait until December to post pictures of our Christmas tree (it is beautiful, I LOVE it!). I thought that for my last November entry I would instead post up some Thanksgiving pictures.
Thanksgiving was a great day. We slept in, then went out searching for a hand-held potato masher. At first we thought all hope was lost, as most of the mashers cost over 20 euros (yikes! $26!), but we finally did find a nice cheap 4 euro version. When we returned home we baked Mom's famous apple pie and made my first ever mashed potatoes before rushing over to Kyle & Jess' place for the meal.
A delicious feast ensued before Nate and I rushed off to our last German birth prep class (Germans don't celebrate Thanksgiving!). Needless to say we were a bit sleepy and probably didn't retain much from the class, but it was good that we went. All in all, I'd have to say that we had a net gain from the class. It was really hard to understand at some points, but I think it did give us a bit more confidence going into the birth.
I hope that you all had fantastic Thanksgivings and that you found plenty to be thankful for. I am thankful for so many things... friends, family, sunny days, Jack frost nipping at my nose, and just for each day to be alive and experience life. It truely is a gift.
