Well, everyone else I know has posted pictures of fun times in the blizzard, so I thought I'd post a couple of pictures and a video. We had a great couple of snow days, all snuggled up in the house. I can't say that we did much, but it was nice to have Nate and Sheila home all day! Elena got to do a lot of sledding in our front yard, which she absolutely loved.
Nate took her out until she cried, "I'm cold!" He was about ready to fall over from exhaustion, and was quite glad that she finally caved.
In other news, I spent an afternoon at St. Francis hospital this past week. I've been having a lot of pain, some between my shoulder blades, which made some people think that I might be having gall bladder issues. The nurse at my OB/GYN thought that I should go straight to the hospital, so go I went. Many hours later, and many discussions with nurses and doctors led to basically nothing. They gave me two liters of IV fluids and a concoction to drink made of Maalox (antacid) and Novocaine (something to numb my esophagus), then sent me home with a prescription for some kind of pill that is supposed to coat my esophagus (and thereby help, somehow?).
I think the diagnosis was that I have a pile of acid irritating my body from my organs being pushed in the wrong place by the baby. I am still having a hard time eating, and every couple of nights have this horrible pain between my shoulder blades. But, I have a midwife appointment tomorrow, and I am hoping that she can shed some more light on what is happening. In the meantime, I am quite assuredly losing weight instead of gaining, which is fine by me. The baby appears to be doing fine (she was entertaining a crowd last night by causing my stomach to shake, rattle, and roll), so we'll just keep waiting. Sometimes I think that March can't come too soon!
OH! I almost forgot. Nate and I went on a 'babymoon' last weekend and we took a few pictures (mostly pregnancy shots of me). If you click on the My Photo Gallery link on the right hand side of the page, you should be able to check them out! Enjoy.
